It is important, however, to choose what the company is going to sponsor carefully. For example, being the sponsor of an organization that turns out to practice discrimination on the basis of something like race or sexual orientation can quickly turn into a public relations disaster.

In some ways, getting good business PR is easier than it has ever been before. After all, any individual who has a good experience with a business can broadcast their thoughts in a way that could theoretically reach millions of people. The important thing is to look for ways to really give people cause to feel good about being your customer.
